Amos Masibo Eyes Bubulo East Seat with Focus on Healthcare and Accountability
Masibo made the move on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the NRM Electoral Commission headquarters in Kyadondo, Kampala. Speaking shortly after receiving the forms, he pledged to bring transformative leadership to a district he says has been left behind in critical sectors such as health, infrastructure, and social services.

As the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) continues its expression of interest process for the 2026 general elections, Amos Masibo has officially picked nomination forms to contest for Member of Parliament (MP) representing Bubulo East County in Namisindwa District.
“I’m bringing new ideas and strategy because the people of Namisindwa are lagging behind in many areas. We are yet to get a Health Center IV, not even a Health Center III, and most of the existing facilities are in a deplorable state. I will improve the situation if elected,” Masibo declared.
He emphasized that his campaign is grounded in the real-life experiences and needs of the people. “Leadership is all about the people,” he noted. “After listening to their problems, I will make sure to speak about them in Parliament. That is my promise.”
Masibo, who is running on the NRM ticket, also took the opportunity to educate constituents on the core roles of a Member of Parliament, vowing to execute them diligently:
Legislation – “MPs are responsible for debating and passing laws that guide the country’s development.”
Representation – “We must bring the concerns of our constituents to Parliament and ensure Ministers are aware of national and local challenges.”
Budget Approval – “It is the duty of MPs to scrutinize, debate, and approve the national budget annually, including any proposed loans.”
Oversight – “We must monitor how government resources are utilized, fight misuse of funds, and uphold the rule of law.”
Masibo’s candidacy adds to the growing list of aspirants across Uganda as the NRM opens its political space ahead of the 2026 elections.
The NRM Electoral Commission officially launched the nomination process on June 2, 2025, inviting party members from across the country to express interest in various elective positions — from parliamentary and district chairperson seats to local government offices.
The nomination exercise, which is being conducted at the NRM EC headquarters in Kyadondo, Kampala, is set to close on June 15, 2025, with official nominations scheduled for June 17, according to the NRM EC Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi.
Dr. Odoi confirmed the process was running smoothly and had attracted strong participation from both new entrants and incumbents.
“Any member vying for a parliamentary seat must pay a non-refundable fee of three million shillings,” he told the press during a media briefing.
He also urged aspiring candidates to follow the party’s electoral guidelines and ensure they demonstrate integrity and commitment to the NRM’s values and vision for national development.
As the political climate heats up, Amos Masibo’s entry into the Bubulo East parliamentary race has injected renewed energy and optimism among his supporters, especially the youth and health sector advocates in Namisindwa District.
With his pledge to prioritize health infrastructure and amplify local concerns in the national legislature, Masibo aims to redefine leadership in the area. His campaign now joins a dynamic and competitive electoral season that will shape Uganda’s political landscape heading into 2026.
