Engineer Asiimwe, who currently serves as the Vice Chairperson for the NRM in the Western Region, made the visit to verify the inclusion of his name on the official party register ahead of the internal electoral processes.

Speaking to the media shortly after his verification, Engineer. Asiimwe expressed his commitment to strengthening the NRM and continuing to serve its vision.

I am here to confirm my name on the party lists and to officially express my interest in contesting for the Southern Vice-Chairman seat. I want to add a brick to our good party, the NRM — a party that has consistently delivered for the people of Uganda,” he stated.

His move signals a shift in regional leadership ambitions and comes at a time when the NRM is actively preparing for internal elections and broader political mobilization across the country

Party officials welcomed his presence, describing it as a sign of democratic maturity within the NRM and a testament to the party’s commitment to inclusive leadership.
