Veteran journalist and youth leader Emma Bwayo has officially entered the race for Namisindwa District LCV Chairperson. On Thursday morning, Bwayo picked his nomination forms, signaling his readiness to contest under the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party in accordance with the party's electoral roadmap.

Bwayo, who boasts over 16 years of experience in journalism, said his deep involvement in community affairs, commitment to transparency, and dedication to development make him a suitable candidate for the top district position.

“With my background in journalism, I have consistently promoted community engagement and held leaders accountable. I believe this experience, along with my leadership roles, gives me a strong foundation to lead Namisindwa towards progress,” he told journalists after collecting his forms.

He confirmed that he had fulfilled all party requirements, including payment of the nomination fees, and pledged to adhere to all guidelines set by the NRM Electoral Commission.

Bwayo, who currently serves as a Youth Councilor, called on fellow aspirants, party leaders, and electoral officials to ensure a transparent and peaceful process.

“We must avoid personal attacks and internal fights,” Bwayo emphasized. “Let this be a violence-free election. That is in the best interest of our district.”

He urged his supporters to focus on issue-based campaigning and emphasized the importance of upholding the will of the people throughout the electoral period.

Bwayo joins a growing list of contenders for the LCV seat, including Situma John Maango and Wataka Patrick Simiyu, who picked their nomination forms earlier in the week.

As the race intensifies, all eyes will be on Namisindwa to see which direction the electorate will take in choosing their next district leader.
